In the case of hydro-schemes, the requirement for aquatic surveys is obvious and is part of the licensing process. But for a wind farm, a property development or construction of a new road, what is the added value? What type of survey should you consider and crucially, when can those surveys be undertaken?

Large companies across the UK risk facing collective fines of up to £200 million for failing to undertake an energy audit under the terms of the UK Government Energy Savings    Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).  The UK government introduced the ESOS Regulations in 2014 with the objective of ensuring that qualifying businesses undertake energy assessment in line with the European Union’s Energy Efficiency Directive.
