Atmos commissioned to assist community wind project in South Lanarkshire
Atmos Consulting has been commissioned by Castlemilk and Carmunnock Community Wind Trust to assist in a community wind project at a site on the Cathkin Braes South Lanarkshire.
The project, which is supported by CARES (Community and Renewable Energy Scheme) has been a long term goal of the local communities, with many sites in the area having been considered.
The current project involves updating available technical information to detemine a suitable location and size of turbine, undertake a range of technical assessments, liaison with the regulatory authorities, non statutory bodies and community groups, all with the ultimate aim of submitting a planning application in the spring of 2012.
The project aim is to provide a long term sustainable 'green' income to invest in a variety of local community projects and activities, improving the area for all residents.
