Atmos has been instumental in gaining consent for a hydro scheme in Perthshire, with a two further schemes likely to be granted permission in the next three weeks.

The 500kW "run of the river" hydro scheme located on the Banvie Burn, Blair Atholl, received planning permission from Perth and Kinross Council on 31 August 2010. The scheme will comprise the installation of a small concrete weir with Coander screen and associated fish pass, 2.8km of penstock before driving a Pelton type "impulse"  turbine and discharging back into the burn via a buried pipeline and headwall outlet screened to protect the ingress of fish.

The Environmental Report submitted by Atmos Consulting covered the following areas: Ecology, Ornithology, Hydrology, Landscape and Visual, Noise, Cultural Heritage, Recreation and Amenity and did not identify and significant impacts associated with the proposed development.
