Atmos helps secure planning permission for wind farm in Aberdeenshire
The Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee has granted planning permission for a 6.9MW wind farm at Hillhead of Auquhirie near Stonehaven on 31st August. Atmos Consulting prepared the EIA for the original project and subsequently acted as Planning Agent and Technical Advisor for an application to increase the height of the three consented turbines from 76m to 92.5m.
The application was initially recommended for refusal by Aberdeenshire Council planners, but was subsequently granted by Councillors on a majority vote after hearing evidence in support of the project from Fraser Mackenzie, Regional Director at Atmos Consulting and Elaine Farquharson-Black from law firm Paull-Williamson.
